Weekend Meditation Retreat

Friday 27 – Sunday 29 October or
Friday 27 – Monday 30 October

Cost: £85 – £160 residential (non residential options also available)

Join us for our popular four day meditation retreat in the beautiful surroundings of Madhyamaka Centre, near Pocklington, where you can enjoy guided meditations with plenty of rest, good food and company.

This weekend meditation retreat gives us the opportunity to get away from the busyness of our daily lives and deepen our experience of meditation. A retreat gives us the time and space away from our usual activities to gain a deeper and more stable experience of a spiritual practice. This retreat will explore how we develop a peaceful mind and help us to reduce stress and other harmful minds.

The meditations will be guided and the retreat is open and suitable for everyone, regardless of experience. Each meditation session will include a talk and guided meditation. The course begins with supper at 6pm on Friday evening and the first retreat session will be at 8pm. The retreat will end with lunch at 1pm on Monday. It is possible to attend the retreat from Friday evening until Sunday lunchtime, or attend individual days (see below for prices). There will be time between the meditation sessions to relax, chat to others and to enjoy the surroundings.

The retreat is being hosted by Madhyamaka Buddhist Centre, near York. The centre provides the perfect location to relax and refresh ourselves, with over 40 acres of grounds and the World Peace café to enjoy.

Comfortable accommodation is provided in single, twin or mini-dorm (4-8) rooms. Single room £160 (£140), Twin room £140 (£120) per person. Dormitory £100 (£85). Prices are for the whole course, Friday – Monday (Friday – Sunday) and include vegetarian meals. Single and Twin rooms have limited availability. Non-residential fees are £60 for the whole course including supper on Friday night and lunch on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Attendance per day is £25 which includes lunch.
